Norman Joseph Rychwalski, age 72, passed away on December 19, 2013.  He was the beloved husband of Sharon ( nee Waclawski ), dear father of Neil and Edward Gurtler and Phyllis Rehmeyer, loving grandfather of Zachary and Zayne Gurtler, Greg and Garrett Brandt and great grandfather of Keaton and Cameron. He was also the devoted brother of the late James P. and Gilbert R. Rychwalski.

Norman was born in Baltimore.  He moved to Glen Burnie and raised his family before moving to Grasonville where he and his wife lived for the past 14 years.  Norman served his country in the U.S. Air Force.  After that, he was employed at the Coast Guard Yard where he worked as a welder for 35 years.

In his spare time, Norman enjoyed working on old cars, watching Ice Hockey, the Ravens, Orioles and NASCAR and he attended the Daytona 500 regularly, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 20, from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at Fink Funeral Home, 426 Crain Hwy., S. in Glen Burnie, where services will be held on Saturday, December 21 at 10:45 AM.

Dear Ann, We are so saddened by Norman's death. I (Mary Jane) grew up with Norman out in the country near Glen Burnie. We roamed the woods together and just generally enjoyed one another. He spent a great deal of time at our house (the one you lived in for a long time) because there were four of us and he was alone quite a bit. My mother always fed him. We know that you were a wonderful wife to him and we thank you for that. He is at peace now. God Bless him and you. Love, Jack and Mary Jane
