Teofilo S. Mejia, 89, passed away on June 6, 2022. He was born in Manila, Philippines, the son of the late Augustine Mejia and Alejandra Salabatino. Pepe, the 6th out of nine living children. He is fondly known as Pepe to his siblings and closest friends, and as Ted to his coworkers, neighbors, care providers and everyone else.
Pepe came to the US in 1977, obtained his citizenship, and was able to petition his family to come and join him. In 1985, they were finally reunited. Pepe was an insurance underwriter in the Philippines. In the US, he worked for a few companies doing different jobs along the way. His favorite past time was fishing and gladly taught his family how to fish. He was a very good story teller and enjoyed writing poems and telling jokes. He was also quite a good dancer.
He is survived by his wife Leonila (Lee) Mejia, daughter Rowena Mejia, son Leland Dexter and his wife Kandi , son Nelson Lloyd and his wife Amy, and Pepe’s only grandchild Brandon Lloyd.
