On March 20, 2020, Ruth M. Fewster, (nee McLaughlin), went home to be with the Lord. She was in the fullness of her 90th year.
Born in Blue Jay, West Virginia, the daughter of Charles T. and Dosia Mae (nee Sheets) McLaughlin, she would later live in Glen Burnie then spend 39 years in Jessup.
Ruth or "Bootsie," as she is affectionately known, was a Registered Nurse and spent 65 years serving patients in various settings. She was absolutely dedicated to her career and her God, literally ministering to thousands of people throughout the years. She was a member of Jessup Baptist church where she helped at the church regularly and served in the Jessup Baptist Widows fellowship. Ruth was also a member of the Glen Burnie Moose, Womens' Order of the Moose and the Pascal Senior Center. A world traveler, Ruth visited at least 5 countries in Europe including Ireland. She is known as a giving person who had a tremendous amount of love and compassion to share. " Bootsie" especially enjoyed being with her family, particularly her dear late husband George E. and her granddaughter Kristina.
Surviving Ruth is her beloved daughter Susan Jean Pleyo, a loving son, Bob Hickman and wife Jeannie as well as Paul McLaughlin her devoted brother and the last surviving sibling of 11. She will be sorely missed by her cherished granddaughter Kristina Leizear and husband John.
