Ronald Miscavich Obituary

December 1, 2020, Ronald F. Miscavich passed with his devoted wife of 17 years, Mary by his side. He was 84.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut he was the son of Francis and Florida (nee Doyon) Miscavich and was a resident of Anne Arundel County for 40 plus years.  He ultimately retired to Easton, Md.

During his youth, Ronald was a lifeguard and also participated as a member of his high school swim team.  He was a graduate of the US Coast Guard Academy, class of 1959 and was a swimmer on the US Coast Guard Academy Swim Team, lettering all four years.  Ronald was a Master Diver with the USCG Rescue and Search team and had the honor of being aboard the first vessel deployed to Vietnam during the war. He Retired a Lieutenant Commander with 20 years of service.  He had a second career as a Broker/Realtor and owned and operated a Property Management Company for many decades in the  Anne Arundel County area.  He had several interests in life, namely investing and deep-sea diving.  He also enjoyed golfing and reading and he never stopped learning.  He was also very well-traveled, served as a Delegate and Alternate Delegate in area 29.  He was   "a friend of Bill," for 47 years and sponsored many members of the group throughout that time.  Ron met his second wife Mary in a grief support group after each had suffered the loss of long-term spouses.   Together they enjoyed many years of extensive travel, deep-sea diving and golfing.  They also worked as facilitators to others who had lost a spouse or significant other.

Surviving Ron is his devoted wife Mary Creswell Miscavich as well as his children Mary Wilson and husband Steven and Mark Miscavich and beloved stepdaughter Angela Glass and her spouse, Richard.  He will be missed by his cherished granddaughter, Kristy Virden and step-granddaughters, Brenna and Kaylee Glass.  His memory lives on in three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.  He will be deeply missed by his sister Linda Lockwood and her spouse Robert as well as his beloved brother, Robert Miscavich.  He leaves to mourn the loss, one niece, Elizabeth Gutierrez and her husband Carlos and 2 great-nephews as well as other relatives too numerous to mention but loved all the same.

Ron is preceded in death by his first wife Charlotte (nee Bocwinski) Miscavich and Michael Miscavich.

Ronald was loved by so many for his caring and generous heart and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of his friendship.
