It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ronald Thomas Ergott. He was just 66.
Born the son of Melvin Henry and Rita Rae (nee Ramage) in Jersey Shore, Pa, he would come to the live in Northern Anne Arundel County with his family at a young age. Ultimately he would settle in Glen Burnie having been a resident of both Severn and Odenton.
"Ron," as those who were close to him know him, was a State Highway worker for a full 36 years when he retired. He began as a laborer and climbed the later to achieve the title of Assistant Resident Maintenance Engineer following many years of dedicated service. In his leisure, Ron was a passionate hunter and loved to fish. He was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association and was very patriotic. Ron enjoyed riding his Harley and all things associated with being a biker. He was a dedicated western movie fan and preferred watching favorite John Wayne movies. It was said, though his family gave him a High Definition television he still enjoyed his low def westerns. Ron was a very dedicated man, and "passionate about whatever he put himself to." When he put his mind to doing something it was never half hearted but one hundred percent dedication and attention to detail.
He was especially devoted to his granddaughter Emma, for whom he loved more than anything and would have willing laid his life down for.
Ron is survived by his dear wife of 36 years Mary Ellen (nee Hagman) as well as his only son Ronald "Ron" Scott Ergott and wife Ashley (nee Nogule). He will be deeply missed by his granddaughter, Emma Brooke Ergott and his dear best friends Bob Marsch and Ed and Margie Keiter.
