Paul Henry Hanks, Sr.

On July 5, 2022, Paul H. Hanks, Sr., passed.  He was 88.

Born in Detroit, Michigan he was the son of Robert and Edith Hanks.  The family would move to Florida where Paul would eventually meet and marry the love of his life Mildred in 1960.  By 1968 the couple moved north and settled in the Glen Burnie area.

Paul worked as a Deli Manager for 20 years at the area Giant grocery.  In his leisure time he liked to hunt and camp.  He was a Scout Master when his son was a member of the Boy Scouts and coin and stamp collecting, painting  and reading where some of his other diversions.  However,  jigsaw puzzles where a big focus.  In his day he completed over 180 such puzzles.  He was also a history buff, especially Civil War history.  Paul, like so many Maryland residents, loved the O's and Ravens and rooting for his granddaughters at their softball games and his grandsons at their t-ball and football games.  He enjoyed vacations with family and traveled as far as Colorado and Florida and particularly liked to travel with Mildred on bus trips.  Paul enjoyed his grandchildren very much and was a loving husband and father.

Surviving him is his devoted wife of 62 years, Mildred Teresa (nee' Breighner), his beloved daughters, Teresa "Terri" Lovelace and Laura Lee Witt and husband Adam and his loving son Paul H. Hanks, Jr.  He will be cherished in the memories of his grandchildren, twins, Destinee and Desiree, twins, Sean and Shane, Colby and Cameron Hanks, Rachel Lovelace-Portal, Rebecca Ruff and Taylor and Ashley Witt.  Paul's legacy continues in his great-grandchildren, Briseis and Brynleigh James.
