On March 10, 2023, Linda Lee Schneider-Kendrik, age 68, passed following a long illness bravely borne.
Born the daughter of William and Gladys (nee Pace) Forsythe in Bethesda, Maryland, she would travel the United States with her Navy family ultimately settling in Derwood.
Linda was a graduate of Rockville High School. During her secondary education she worked at NIH and after more than 30 years of service, retired in a Management position.
She was a "big Disney fan," and Vacation Club member who looked forward to her yearly vacations at the theme park. She called it her "happy place." Linda also enjoyed visiting Deep Creek Lake. Her interest also included horse racing, especially the Triple Crown Races, and watching the Dog Show following the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and exploring Civil War history. In her 20's, Linda was a long distance runner who participated in Marathon races; She loved the training and running. Her passion, though, was for her family. Linda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving her is her devoted husband Jose' "Joe" Kendrik Vargas as well as her beloved daughters, Ashley Yowell and Lee Schneider-Miller and her husband Kevin. Linda leaves a loving son, Christopher Forsythe and his wife Amanda and two caring step-sons Matthew K. and Mark K. She will be missed by her sister Iris Echelberger and her husband Lowell and her aunt, Betty Hale and Lillian. She will be cherished in the memories of her grandchildren Janus Forsythe, Valin Forsythe and Chelsea Yowell. Linda is reunited with her late grandson Austin Yowell and her brother James Forsythe in passing.
