Suddenly on December 23, 2021, Joe James Hunt went home to be with the Lord. He was 75.
Born the son of Robert and Irene (nee Leigh) Hunt, in Illinois, he would come to Maryland after being recruited to work for Westinghouse, following graduating high school in 1966.
Shortly there after, he met the love of his life, Edith (nee Morgret) and they were married in 1968. They would spend the next 53 years raising a family and building a life, happily together.
Joe worked for nearly 40 years as an Electronics Technician in the defense industry finally retiring from Northrup Grumman. In his leisure time Joe enjoyed all sports, playing card games such as pinochle and poker, and horse racing and gambling. He truly enjoyed one particular sport, Golf. He loved to play and even entered tournaments. He was just as content though, hitting the links at his local course, Eisenhower, as anywhere else.
Surviving Joe are his afore mentioned wife Edith, as well as his beloved children, Cathy and husband David Carpenter, Angie and Marvin Mason and Mike and wife Jennifer Hunt. He will be cherished in the memories of his loving grandchildren, Ben and Shelby Beares, Abby, Kate, Jillian and Aaron Hunt and Jonathan Carpenter. He is reunited with his departed grandson, James "Jimmy" Carpenter. Joe will be dearly missed by his brothers, Bo and wife Janice, Stan and wife Betsy, Fred and wife Judy and Ben and wife Peggy and brother-in-law Rick Snyder. He joins his sister Debbie Snyder in passing. Joe's beloved dog Cavin will miss his masters company.
