On November 14, 2022, Florence Ann Martin (nee Yirka), passed at the age of 92.
Born the daughter of John and Stella (nee Golas) Yirka, she grew up in Curtis Bay and came to live in Brooklyn Park in 1950. She would be a lifelong Maryland resident.
Florence worked as a Computer Analyst at the Social Security Administration for 36 years. In her leisure she loved to travel the world. It was said "she traveled everywhere and sometimes twice." She enjoyed reading and going to museums, attending parties, dancing and listening to music. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. Florence was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.
Florence is reunited in passing with her first husband of 25 years Vernon Andrew Martin and her second spouse of 12 years John Towels.
She is survived by her beloved daughters Verna A. Chilipko and husband Richard, Randi Makarovich and joins her beloved Lachele C. Martin and her son-in-law Michael Makarovich in eternity. Florence will be dearly missed by her son Vernon Robert and his significant other Margy Ostrusky. She will be cherished in the memory of her brother Joseph Yirka and his wife Linda and her sister Pat Snyder and her husband Edward. She is united with her brother Donald Yirka and wife Joan. In death. Florence's legacy continues in 8 grand and 10 great-grandchildren and another great-grandchild on the way.
