Charles Holloman Obituary

Charles was born on October 4, 1948 to the late John Sr. & Hilda Holloman in Plaquemine, Louisiana.

Charles was raised and educated in Plaquemine until he joined the Army May 1, 1968. He served in Vietnam and often talked about his experience while there. He was honorably discharged April 23, 1974 with rank of Sargent.

Once discharged from the Army, Charles came to the Washington DC area where he began his careers as a Pressman Journeyman. His first opportunity was with the Washington Post. Shortly thereafter, he worked at Quebecor where he became active in the Journeyman Union. It wasn’t long that he was was elected President of that union.

Charles later joined the Baltimore Sun where he worked as a Pressman Journeyman until he retired.

Charles was married to Rachel Holloman and from this union Kevin was born, he joined his brother Darren to complete the family.

Charles later met and married the love of his life Sandra Prater Holloman. They were married from November 9, 1990 until her passing August 19, 2020.

Charles was preceded in n death by his parents John & Hilda, brother John Jr, step-son Darren Hill and his beloved wife Sandra (Sandy)

Charles leaves to cherish his memory: Son Kevin (Maxine), two grandchildren Dante’ Tyrell & Tyana Monet. Sisters: Laura, Verla, Marian and Glo. Nieces & Nephews: Renee, Patrick, Sandy, James, Troy, Terry, Verlita, Karona and a host of great nieces & nephews, extended family and friends.
