Thomas Arthur Shoop, age 65, passed away on January 18, 2015. He was the beloved son of the late Edward A. and Lucille E. Shoop, dear husband of Laurine E. (nee Taylor) devoted father of Brian T. Shoop and Lindsey M. Graves and her husband Timothy, loving brother of Gary Shoop and his wife Debbie, Wendy Singer and her husband, Mike, Kathy Smallwood and her husband Wilson, caring brother-in-law of Christine Conner and her husband, David "Buster", Darlene Harding and her husband, Harry and Lawrence A. "Bunky" Taylor, doting grandfather of Hunter and Addison Shoop and Taylar Graves and uncle of numerous nieces and nephews as well as friend to many.
Tommy grew up in Arbutus. He lived in Pasadena, MD for 28 years before relocating to Glen Burnie where he resided for 1 year. He proudly served his country in the US Army as a radio operator in the 501st Signal BN in Vietnam. He received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Commendation Medal and the Army Commendation with 2 O/S Bars. Later , he was employed by a distribution warehouse where he worked as manager. He was dedicated to his career.
Among many of Tommy's interests, he played bass guitar, which was his hobby since high school, in his band, The Sheratons and also the band, Wind, with his brother and sister. Tommy cared about his appearance; especially about his hair. He made sure that everything was always just right. He was a big sports fan and loved to watch the Baltimore Ravens and the Orioles. He liked gambling, gardening but most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially "his girls" and sharing lots of laughs and good times with his son, Brian.
He will surely be missed....
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at Fink Funeral Home, 426 Crain Hwy S. in Glen Burnie where services will be held on Monday at 11:30 AM.
