Susan Helen Schoening, age 93, passed away on December 22, 2013.  She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Schoening, dear mother of Ingrid McDaniel-Jones and husband, Bobby and Robert Davis and wife Theresa, caring grandmother of Merit Pennington, Jerry and Barry McDaniel and Rick and Bryan Davis, and loving great grandmother of Jerry McDaniel, Jr., Jamie McDaniel and Phoebe Davis. She is preceded in death by her mother, Claire Rothschild, sister, Frances Farley and brother, Hans Struempfler. Susan came to the United States in May of 1949 from Frankfurt, Germany to Evensville, Indiana.  From there she moved to Glen Burnie in 1960. She worked in retail most of her career.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting and bingo, and she loved playing Yatzee and cards with her neighbor.  She liked to go to Ocean City with her son, Bob and visiting her daughter, Ingrid occasionally in Danville, VA. She was a devoted parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Glen Burnie. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at Fink Funeral Home, 426 Crain Hwy., South.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10:30 at Holy Trinity Church.
