Sadly, on April 12, 2026, Sherrie R. Werner (ne'e Knott) passed in the presence of her loving family. She was 70.

The daughter of Raymond and Shirley (ne'e Clark) Knott she was born and raised in Glen Burnie.

Sherrie was employed by the United States Naval Academy for 30 years where she worked as a Customer Service Coordinator the same employer her mother worked for. Sherries daughter continues the family tradition of Naval Academy service.

In her younger years she enjoyed bowling. After marriage she was a Ravens fan, as she would tell you ,"only because her husband liked them," but was a "big time" Orioles supporter. She never missed a televised game. Sherrie's life was her family though and her lifetime of dedication and love has marked the hearts of all she touched.

Surviving Sherrie is her devoted husband of 50 years James Joseph Werner as well as her beloved daughter Lisa Shipley and husband Daniel. She is reunited in passing with her daughter Rebecca Lynn who preceded Sherrie in 2019. She will be cherished in the memories of her grandchildren, Jolene, Rebecca, Sophia, Jack and Eleanor Shipley and her presence will be missed by her siblings Christine Jackson, Laura Knott, Glen Knott, David Knott and Jeffrey Knott. She joins her sister Deborah Knott in eternity. Sherrie's in-laws, Rita Lowman, Tony Werner, Andrew Werner, Matthew Werner and Barbara Zermo will fondly remember the time spent with her as will her aunts and uncles, Rosanna Wink, Shirley McCord, Alvin Knott and Donald Knott and nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
