Norwood "Roy" L. Gray, Jr., age 87, passed away on July 12, 2014. He was caring son of the late Mary E. and Norwood L. Gray, Sr., the beloved husband of Amelia (nee Valenzia), dear father of Joan Marlene Malueg, Karen Ann Nearhoof, Donna Lee Tully and Sandra Lynn Keefer, devoted grandfather of Joseph Wade, Amy McCord, Robert Grafton, Sarah Keefer, Victoria Tully,Wendy Santiago and Jesse Buckland, Jr., loving great grandfather of Jesse Buckland, III, Zachary, Noah and Zoe Santiago, Jordan and Kaylee McCord, Aden Wade and Alison and Brayden Grafton, brother of Gary L. Gray and many nieces and nephews. Roy was born in Baltimore then moved to Glen Burnie in 1957.  He proudly served our country in the MD State Guard,  the US Navy and then finally as a US Merchant Mariner. He was a very active person.  Roy enjoyed boating, vacationing at Ocean City and Assateague Island or anywhere there is water.  He loved being with family and friends and they could always count on him if they needed him. When his granddaughter, Victoria was in eighth grade, she had an assignment from school to interview a grandparent and she did this with Roy.  She had to write an essay and a quote from him is as follows; "Kids these days have so many rules and things to follow. It's nothing like when I was a kid.  Those were the good old days." He will be missed. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at Fink Funeral Home, 426 Crain Hwy S. in Glen Burnie where services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM. Interment: Glen Haven Cemetery
