Robert Franklin Martin, Jr, age 69, passed away on January 9, 2016.  He was the beloved husband of 44 years to Shirley Marie (nee Metzger), dear father of Robert "Butch" L. Martin, his wife, Robin, David L. Martin, his wife Cheryl, and the late Nicole R. Martin, loving brother of Debbie Meyers and Linda Gorrick and devoted grandfather of Gabriel, Andrew, Grayson, Reese, David, Jr., Jacob and Emma Nicole Martin and "Dad" to his dogs, Chrissy and Angel. Butch was born in Baltimore and his family soon relocated to Severn where he was a lifelong resident. After high school, he proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War earning a Purple Heart, 4 Bronze Service Stars and the Vietnam Service Medal. As a career, he was an Owner/Operator as a commercial driver in the transportation industry. He liked his garage where he enjoyed working on trucks, old cars and boats.  He was a dedicated father and husband and he loved spending time with his family. He will truly be missed.... A Memorial Service will be held in Butch's honor on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Church at Severn Run.
