Obituary

Suddenly, on July 13, 2021, Orville L. Barton, Jr., passed.  He was 77.

Born in Baltimore, the son of  Orville L. ,Sr. and Anna Elizabeth (nee Ward), he would grow up and live in the famous "Pigtown," South Baltimore.  He would eventually live in Lansdowne and finally settle in Glen Burnie.

During his working years,  Orville was a Supervisor for J. Schoenmans Clothiers where he worked for nearly 3 decades before the company left Baltimore.  He then worked with his brother-in-law in maintenance at apartment complexes.

Like so many Baltimorians, he loved baseball and football and he also played softball himself.  He coached Little League and made sure that every player had a ride to and from the practices and games.  He was really dedicated to the kids.  With his own family, in particular the grandchildren, he found great joy in watching them participate in their sports and activities.  He would sacrifice his own well being in support of his family.

Orville was known for his love of conversation, he was a "real people person."  He would participate in yard sales, less for the sales but more for the opportunity to connect with people.  He enjoyed music and would sing around his grandchildren;  He loved music in general and was particularly fond of the music of the 50's and 60's but learned to appreciate Country and even rock music if his children liked it.

He will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to know him.

Surviving him are his dear wife of 58 years, Nancy Lee (nee' Fiersuk) as well as his two children Suzanne Annette Barton-Treshman and Wayne Lewis Barton and wife Brina ( nee' Rhea).  He will be forever cherished by his beloved grandchildren Kayleigh Treshman and Noah, Bruce and Kristina Barton.  Orville will be missed by his sister Jeanette Hamilton and husband Brad Key as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.  He joins in passing a loving brother Everette Barton.  Finally, Orville's absence will be noted by his golden retriever, "Cookie," who was a long time companion and dear friend.
