Nelson Hollis Higgins, Sr., age 81, passed away on June 24, 2016.  He was the beloved husband of Anna M. Higgins, dear father of Nelson, Jr., Vickie Williams and her husband, Bill and Sean Carper and his wife, Christine.  He was the loving brother of Pearl Getz, Dorothy Higgins, the late Lillian Curran and Harry Higgins, and the devoted grandfather of Kellie Carper, Jason and Matthew Williams and great grandfather of one on the way. Nelson was born in Gambrills, Md.  He resided in the Glen Burnie area for 32 years.  He was employed by Alger Electric, where he worked as an electrician.  Among many of his interests, Nelson really enjoyed going to the beach.  He also was a big fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Ravens, singing karaoke, especially Frank Sinatra, and painting, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
