Obituary

On October 24, 2026, Nancy L. Sollers (nee Cave) passed at the age of 82.

Nancy was born the daughter of William and Frances (nee DeHaven) Cave in Upper Marlboro settling in Severn where she lived for many years.

She was a homemaker, dedicated to her family.  Nancy watched every child in the family from her children down to her great grandchild, years of loving caregiving.  It was said "family was the utmost to mom."

Education was also very important to her and though she herself did not have the opportunity for higher education, she prioritized it for her family.  She was a volunteer in the health room when her children were young and also led Girl Scouts and was heavily involved with her daughter's sport, Baton Twirling.

Nancy enjoyed reading, watching crimes shows, cooking and was especially fond of feeding the neighborhood squirrels and raccoons.

She is reunited in passing with her dear husband of 43 years, William E. Sollers, Jr. (2009) and is survived by her devoted daughter Kimberly Mayer and husband Joseph and beloved son William E. Sollers, III.  She will be fondly remembered by her brother James Cave and wife Nancy and joins her late sister Betty Wiggins in eternity.  Nancy will be cherished in the memories of her beloved  grandchildren Duncan Sollers, Ian, Max,David, Chris  and Lauren Mayer, Madison Schirmer and one great grandchild Cecilia Schirmer.  Her She will be sorely missed by her nephew James Cave, her niece Deborah Freeland and her great nephew Jared Cave and great niece Katie Freeland as well as numerous others.Nancy's friend and care provider,  Dee Turner, who was "really like family," will miss her.
