Sadly, on January 23, 2017, Marie Concetta Upton nee Valenzia, passed following a brief illness.  Mary was 90 years old, recently celebrating a milestone birthday with family. A long time resident of Severn, Maryland, she was a dedicated member of St Bernadette Catholic Church, the anchor of the community where she raised a family with her late husband Raymond. She worked as a childcare provider for a number of years, something she was drawn to because of her love of children.  Mary was fond of talking on the telephone, enjoyed game shows and word puzzles  which she believed kept the mind sharp. Most notably, Mary loved her daughter Cindy more than anything in the world;  everything she did was for her. Surviving Mary are her sister Amelia Gray and brother Richard Valenzia.  She is preceded in death by her sisters Josephine Kraft, Rose Long and Frances Younger and her brothers Salvatore and Joseph Valenzia.  Her extended family of many, many nieces, nephews and great, even great- great nieces and nephews will miss her dearly. She will be sorely missed..........
