Obituary

Mary Flavia Lopez-Lowrey, age 72, passed away on July 27, 2014.  She was the beloved wife of the late Walter H. Lowrey, MSG RET, US Army, dear mother of Priscilla M. Lowrey-Dicus, devoted grandmother of Joshua T. Dicus, loving sister of Sam, Zenon, John, Eugene and Felix Lopez, Jr., Agnes, Bessie and Charlotte.  She is preceded in death by 5 siblings. Mary was born in Trinidad, Colorado in 1942. After she graduated from high school, she proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, being honorably discharged in 1963. She settled in Glen Burnie in 1966, then gained employment at the Department of Defense as an analyst and retired in 1994. Among her many attributes, Mary was a generous and giving person.  She volunteered at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in the Parish Center and at various other churches in the area.  She was a member of the Sodality, the Rosary Making Guild, a life member of VFW Post 160 Womens Auxiliary and the Glen Burnie Aglow Religious Organization. She enjoyed collecting and crocheting and loved Elvis. She was known as the "Grandmother" of many neighborhood children. She gave of herself unconditionally in her community and will surely be missed.... The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 7-9 PM at Fink Funeral Home, 426 Crain Hwy S in Glen Burnie where memorial services will be held at 7:30 PM.
