Marian Rose Holmes (nee Vavilis), age 77, passed away on August 25, 2015.  She was the beloved wife of the late Richard L. Holmes, USAF, Retired, dear mother of James Keim, Rosemary Smith, Laurie Pavlinski and her husband, Ed, Brenda Glidden and her husband, Tim and Barbara Nicholson and her husband, Jim.  She was the loving grandmother of Ronald Tormollan, Amanda Foster, Jessica Strong, Andrew Smith, Devyn, Timothy, Korinne and Tyler Glidden, Kevin Holmes and Kirsten Nicholson, devoted great grandmother of Teagan and Killian Foster and Nolan and Hunter Holmes and sister of Joseph Matriccioni and the late George Vavilis.  In addition, she was the pup mom to her Dachshund, Roxie Holmes. Marian was born in New York City in 1938 and she graduated from Southern High school in 1955. She married the love of her life, Richard in 1966.  They traveled around because of his service in the US Air Force before settling in Glen Burnie in 1977. She was a volunteer in the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Among her many interests, she liked bowling, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She will truly be missed.... The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at Fink Funeral Home, 426 Crain Hwy S. in Glen Burnie where services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM.
