IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leo Francis
Brukiewa
January 11, 1930 – October 18, 2018
On October 18, 2018, after a fruitful life of 88 years, Leo Francis Brukiewa went home to his Saviour.
A lifelong resident of the Glen Burnie area, he was the son of Adam J and Mary (nee Waclowski) and would live along the same street the entirety of his years. Leo would eventually scratch build his own home and create a life with his dear, late wife Peggy (nee LaBarre).
An original benefactor of the Church of the Good Shepherd, he literally helped in the building of the church. From it's inception, Leo would serve on the Parish Council, maintain the facilities and even cook for church, including events for "the old people," of which he was usually the eldest .
Leo enjoyed building 'bird shaped' bird houses as a hobby and even marketed his creations. He like to bowl in his younger years and he was particularly fond of gardening.
Surviving him are his daughter Holly and her husband Dan O'Keefe, sons Terry, Dale and spouse Barb, Robin and wife Adele and Thomas and spouse Paula. He precedes a brother Henry and wife Barbara Brukiewa.
Leo's legacy continues to grow through his loving grandchildren Jennifer Commons and husband Mike, Patrick and spouse Rachel, Katie O'Keefe and Adam and Carly Brukiewa as well as two beloved great grand children Eli and Fannie.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the University of Maryland Baltimore/Washington medical center Healing Garden @ gofundme.com and searching "honor bricks for the Brukiewas."
