Obituary

Lawrence Russell Bell, age 83, passed away on February 14, 2014.  He was the beloved husband of Beverly (nee Linton), dear father of David Carroll and Michelle Hoffnagle and loving grandfather of 5. Lawrence selflessly served his country in the United States Army.  After that, he joined the Baltimore City Fire Department where he rose to the ranks of Acting Lieutenant before retiring in 1980 after 28 years of service.  He was very proud to be a fire fighter.  He was a dedicated member of the American Legion Post 40.  Lawrence also liked to cook, taking care of projects around the house and reading.  He also enjoyed listening to old shows on the radio and early morning westerns and movies.  He also was a Ravens and Orioles fan, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.   His wife, Bev is an active member of Glen Lutheran Church. The family will have a public viewing and visitation on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at Fink Funeral Home, 426 Crain Hwy S. in Glen Burnie, where services will be held on Thursday at 9:30 AM. Interment: Crownsville Veterans Cemetery In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Glen Lutheran Church, 106 Carroll RD @ Delaware Ave, Glen Burnie, MD  21060, www.glenlutheranchurch.org or call 410.766.6534.
