Jong Won Andy Shin, age 60, passed away on February 11, 2026, surrounded by love, after a courageous and difficult battle with stage 4 stomach cancer. He passed just two days after celebrating his 60th birthday.

Andy was a devoted husband, father, and patriot whose life was defined by service, strength, and quiet dedication to those he loved. He proudly served in the United States Navy and was a Gulf War veteran, answering his country’s call with honor and courage.

Above all else, Andy was a family man. He was the beloved husband of Savina Shin and a devoted father to his daughter, Hannah, and his son, Isaac. His love for his family was steadfast and unwavering, and he found his greatest joy in caring for them and being present in their lives.

Andy faced his illness with remarkable resilience and dignity. Despite great physical suffering, he continued to show strength, humility, and grace. His perseverance left a lasting impression on all who walked beside him during this journey.

Those who knew Andy will remember him for his loyalty, calm presence, and deep sense of responsibility to both family and country. His actions spoke louder than words, and his life was lived with integrity.

Andy is survived by his loving wife, Savina; his children, Hannah and Isaac; and many family members and friends who were touched by his kindness and service. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A viewing and funeral service will be held on March 9 at 11:30 a.m. at Fink Funeral Home in Glen Burnie. Burial with military honors at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery will follow later that day and will be for immediate family only.
