On January 10, 2020, Joan C. Barrell, (nee Wasmus) went home to be with her Lord and Saviour.  She was in the fullness of her eightieth year.

Born to Clifton J. and Agnes E. (nee Conway) all those years ago in Ferndale, Maryland, she spent the entirety of her life in the same town.  She would be married for over 42 years to Benjamin H. Barrell who preceded her in passing in 2009.

Joan's vocation was in the retail sales industry, where she would ultimately retire.  In her leisure time, she very much enjoyed camping, a hobby her and Ben participated in often.  For a time they had a permanent camping site in Virginia where they would make many memories.  She and her husband were also "railroad buffs," and enjoyed visiting rail museums and collecting train models.  Finally, Joan participated in the Anne Arundel County Alarmers with her husband, an organization dedicated to supporting fire at the scene of fires with encouragement and refreshment.

Joan was a loving and dedicated wife, sister, aunt and friend to many.

Surviving her is her brother Harry Wasmus and his wife Nancy as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Her sister-in-lawVictoria (Ronnie) and Betty Wasmus,(Clifton) mourns the loss.

Joan joins her sibling in passing, the late Clifton "Buddy" Wasmus, (Betty), Gladys Hill and Ronald Wasmus.
