Joan (Zentgraf) Thompson was the beloved wife of the late Robert W. Thompson, Jr., whose service in the U.S. Navy brought their family on many memorable adventures overseas. These travels sparked Joan's lifelong love of exploring new places and meeting people from all walks of life. Her radiant smile and warm presence left a lasting impression wherever she went. She was the cherished daughter of the late John and Mary Zentgraf and sister to the late Alfred Zentgraf (Mary), as well as the late Katherine Taylor (Pete). Joan is lovingly remembered by her children: John Thompson (Laura), Linda Berman (Harry) and David Thompson (Jenn). She was a devoted grandmother to Harry Berman, Chris Thompson, Joe Berman, Katie Maurer (Dennis) and Jared Thompson (Liz). Her legacy continues through her great-grandsons Seth Thompson and Deven Maurer. Joan also leaves behind many other dear family members and friends who were touched by her kindness. Known for her caring heart and generous spirit, Joan brought joy to those around her with simple pleasures—knitting gifts for loved ones, cheering on her Baltimore Orioles, reading, and baking amazing cookies. Joan loved to pick crabs while surrounded by family and friends. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
