Joan G. Welsh (nee Swim), age 84, passed away on February 10, 2018.  She was the beloved wife of 55 years to the late Frank A. Welsh, loving mother of Charles A. "Tony" Welsh and Joan P. Milan, devoted grandmother of  Samantha "Sam" Lucas, Stacey Welsh and Jessica Sadjedy, cherished great grandmother of Layla and Alexander and dear sister of William Swim and three other siblings who passed before her. Joan was born in Canada and lived in Nova Scotia before moving to Crofton where she resided for the last 25 years.  Before coming to Maryland, she was a reservist in the Canadian Military Forces.  While here, Joan was employed by Eastern Star Masonic Home as a Nurse's Aid in long term care for 20 years before retiring to take care of her ailing mother.  Among her many interests, she enjoyed dancing, music and was an avid reader in her younger years, but more than anything else, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and wife and loved spending time with her family. She will truly be missed..... PLEASE NOTE At the request of the family the funeral services will be a private affair in keeping with the deceased final wishes.
