On April 28, 2025, Joan S. Betz (ne'e Schofield) passed at her residence in the company of her family.  She was 90.

Born in Philidelphia the daughter of Edward John and Rose Catherine (ne'e Owens) she would later come to live in Glen Burnie in 1955.

Joan worked for the Maryland Motor Vehicles Administration for 21 years as a Title Advisor retiring in 1996. She enjoyed travel throughout the United States and Europe, was fond or reading mystery novels, enjoyed crossword puzzles and liked to create ceramics.  Joan is a life long member of the St. Philip Neri Catholic Parish, the Pascal Senior Center and the Ferndale Road Runners.

Joan is reunited in her passing with her beloved husband of 52 years, Herbert V. Betz (2007) and is survived by her loving daughters, Maria Betz, Marlene Vetrone and Christina Harro and husband Michael, as well as her devoted son Joseph Betz.  She joins her late son Edward Betz in eternity.  Her brother Edward Schofield (wife Elaine late) will mourn Joan's passing.  She will be cherished in the memories of her dear grandchildren Ami Harro, Danielle O'neill, Beau Vetrone, Tiffany Betz, Joey Betz and Brandi Reed as well as 9 great grandchildren.
