Regrettably, on April 13, 2015 Joan Ethel McGowan (nee McCann) "Granny", passed following an extended illness. Born in Everett, Massachusetts to Kenneth S. McCann and Anna M. Bruns, she is preceded in death by her siblings , Kenneth McCann, Jr., Neal and Clayton McCann, Constance Sass and Shirley Baechtold.  The McCann family moved to Glen Burnie when Joan was a young child. She was the devoted mother of Bonnie Huggins, Michael McGowan and Marcia Ring.  Joan is also the loving "Granny" of her 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  Aunt Joan is survived by 13 nieces and nephews. Joan was an avid gardener and dabbled in astrology.  She had a great love of music and learned to play the piano at a young age . Her favorite destination was a trip to Denmark, the town of her mother's family. Joan loved creating stained glass and watching her birds in garden, but most of all she loved spending time with her children and their families, who meant the world to her. She will truly be missed.... A Graveside Service will take place at Glen Haven Cemetery in Glen Burnie on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 1:00 PM. Arrangements where made by Fink Funeral Home, P.A.
