Obituary

On April 15, 2025 "Jim" James Joseph Donohue went home to be with the Lord.  He was 68.

Born the son of  James Francis and Mary Gloria (ne'e Larkin) in Baltimore he would be a lifelong Glen Burnie resident.  Jim is a graduate of Andover High School, Class of "74,  and was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Joseph's Monastery Parish.  He is a former Manager at the Preston Trucking Company and was a long time employee of FedEx where he served as a Customer Service Representative. .Jim had a kind heart and provided for members of his family in their later years and was devoted animal lover.  His dedication to his faith coalesced in a deep love for the birth of Jesus and the observation  and all of  the trappings of the Christmas season;  In fact Jim would keep Christmas decorations up year round.  When he was a child he even took on the role of "Santa" for his younger siblings fondly recalled memories  they shared.  Jim also enjoyed the thrill of playing the lottery and was fond of spending time at casinos, particularly the  ones at Atlantic City, New Jersey.  Though he had no children of his own, Jim was dedicated  to and deeply appreciated by many nieces and nephews., family members and friends alike.

Survivng Jim is his beloved siblings Syleste Schmedes (Gary), Henry Donohue (Darlene), Cath Schweitzer (Danny), Joe Donohue (Diane), Gerard Donohue (Alison), Patrick Donohue (Pamela), Monica Karousos, Mary Schaner (Scott), Mike Donohue Teresa Moyer (Shawn).   He also leaves behind 30 nieces and nephews whom he cherished, Angela Karousos, Andrea Simon (Sam), Mark Donohue (Savvy) Mary Fraley (Shane), Spiro Karousos, Cory Schweitzer (Meg), Amanda Donohue,  Stephanie Heffner (Shawn) Gary Schmedes Jr., Elizabeth Schmedes, Christie Sylvester (Tim), Michael Karousos ( Caitlin), Ryan Donohue (Taylor), James Donohue, Katherine Gennantonio (Hunter), Sal Schaner, Andrew Donohue, Christopher Donohue, Rachel Donohue, Jacob Donohue, Evan Donohue, Matthew Donohue (Ryleigh), Michael Schaner, Hannah Donohue, Erin Schaner, Patrick Moyer, Jenna Donohue, Marianna Donohue, Maresa Moyer, Madelinn Moyer, and five beloved Great nieces and nephews, Dominik & Dieter Schweitzer, Wyatt Sylvester, Andrew Karousos, Camden Heffner, Olivia Fraley and Elia Simon.  He will be deeply missed.
