Sadly, on March 26, Jerry Robert Lane passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by those who love him, after his second heroic struggle with cancer. Born 63 years ago to the late Robert Dryden Lane and Martha Lee Simmons, he was a lifelong resident of Glen Burnie and Pasadena, where he spent 32 wonderful years with his loving wife Jackie.  He is the beloved father of Tracey Coe and her partner Thomas Kolodziejski, Jr., and Shelby Lane and his wife Brandy.  He will also be missed by his granddaughter Henley Lane and grandpup Lyla. Among his survivors are his siblings Diana Nichols and husband Jim, Nancy Bibeault and husband Fred, Robert Lane Jr., and Gary Lane and wife Theresa, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jerry was able to enjoy retirement and he did so after 24 years of service as an IT Specialist with the Howard County government. A United States Navy Veteran, he was a proud member of American Legion Post 277, VFW Bayside, as well as the Moose and the Laurel Clubs. Jerry was known as the "music man" because of his intense passion for music.  Playing guitar and singing were among his absolute favorites!  He often shared with others, "music soothes the soul."    In his free time, Jerry also enjoyed playing pool, darts, wood working and traveling. He had the pleasure of visiting many countries while in the Navy, in addition to the numerous states on travels with his family and friends.  Jerry's yearly ritual, one of the last things he was able to enjoy, was to plant a garden, providing delicious, homegrown vegetables for his family, neighbors and friends. Jerry Lane will continue to be "honored, loved and cherished" by his family and friends, forever.
