On Tuesday, January 14, 2020, Jean Williford, of Severn, MD, passed away peacefully at age 84. Jean was born on June 16, 1935 in North Carolina to Adolphus and Ila Mae Goodwin. On February 1, 1953, she married Harold Williford Sr. They raised a son, Cliff, and a daughter, Debra. Jean was a strong, independent Southern woman who had two great passions in life that she enjoyed a great deal – golf and bowling. She was an accomplished bowler and golfer who took a lot of pride in showing off her skills by beating men and women alike on a regular basis. Even in her retirement years, she would stay active and competitive, having fun showing those younger her impressive skills and her fun, competitive nature. Most of all, Jean loved doing things with or simply being in the presence of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her great, great grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her brothers Alfred and Jack, her sister Janie, and her grandson, Jason. She is survived by her son, Cliff and his wife Cheryl, their five children, Cliff, Jen, Diana, Joe, Kevin, her daughter Debra and her son Chris; her brother Carey; and her many great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren. ​ A gathering to remember Jean's life will be held on Friday, January 24th, 2020 at Fink Funeral Home in Glen Burnie, MD from 430pm-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation or the Tate Cancer Center at UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
