Obituary

Jean S. Webster, 95, of Linthicum devoted wife of the late Earl Richard for 57 years, she is originally of Trenton, NJ. born of the Late William Francis and Marie Rose nee Schaller.  Dear mother of Jeanmarie (Bowen) Tichnell  and Christine Horensky, Richard, Paul, William, James and Joseph Webster.  Beloved grandmother and great grandmother of 22 and 28 respectively and late great granddaughter Samantha Webster. Mother-in-law of the late  Marvin Bowen and Dudd LaBabera. Mrs. Webster spent her early life in New Jersey where she graduated Valedictorian at Cathedral High School in Trenton and received post secondary education for Secretarial work.  She also resided for a time in Alexandria, VA. and participated as a member of The Squaws a local women's club in Indian Springs, Va.  She practiced as a bus driver and crossing guard in the interim for both VA and MD schools. Eventually settling in Maryland, Jean lived in Severna Park and finally Linthicum.  As an Executive Secretary for the Director of the Department of Motor Vehicles, Md., she faithfully executed her duties until her retirement in 1984.  Her life was devoted to the Catholic faith participating in the Sodality at St. Martin's and St. Michael's Parishes (DC & VA respectively) and as a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church Jean served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered for Sarah's House, an outreach to the needy as well as Our Daily Bread.  She was awarded for her services to the same by Archbishop Cardinal William Keeler of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.  Jean also volunteered as a delivery driver for Lindy's Pharmacy in Linthicum. Her interest included playing cards especially pinochle, and traveling, by which she visited every state in the lower 48 by RV with her husband Earl in their retirement.  Jean was a devoted mother, loved cooking and sewing even making clothing for many and varied events.
