James Gordon Yankosky, 94, died February 22, 2012 He was the beloved husband of the late Elisabeth Helga ( nee Herbst ), loving father of M. Gordon, Bryan J. and wife, Millie, A. Douglas and wife, Sandy Yankosky, and Caroline E. Ganer and husband, James, devoted brother of Janet Kenworthy and dearest grandfather of Justin and Alexis Yankosky and Michael, Elizabeth and Georgina Ganer. James was born in Ironwood, Michigan and he eventually settled in Glen Burnie and has been a resident since 1961. He was a Major in the US Army Military Police and was stationed around the world.  James served in WWII; Berlin Airlift, Phillipines and the Occupation of Japan. He retired after 21 years of service. He was a member of the Army Military Police Association.  James then was employed at the Department of Motor Vehicles as an Administrator / Sergeant in Edgewood, MD and retired after 20 years. He enjoyed sports, especially the Green Bay Packers and spending time with his family. Funeral arrangements are handled by Fink Funeral Home in Glen Burnie and are private.
