Clayton, Sr.
January 10, 1948 – January 21, 2025
Suddenly, on January 21, 2025, James A. Clayton, Sr., 77 of Glen Burnie, passed.
Born the son of Oliver Cayton, Jr., and Edith (nee Orf) in Baltimore, he would live in Green Haven, Pasadena until he married in 1960.
James worked for the MTA for 38 years starting out as a bus sweeper at night and retired as a Supervisor. He has been a volunteer Fire Fighter with the Green Haven Volunteer Fire Company, enjoyed fishing, crabbing, boating and operating Citizens Band radio. James particularly liked eating out at the Honey Bee diner and the Furnace Branch Carryout where he was a reugular, known by the staff and many patrons.
James is reunited in passing with his dear wife of 41 years, Holly (2012) and is survived by his beloved children Tracy Norris and husband Donald, James A. Clayton Jr., and wife Joy and Matthew S. Clayton. He will be cherished in the memory of his loving siblings Dawn Reyes and husband Bob and Oliver Clayton III and wife Dawn. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Ashley Wright and husband Matthew, Justin Smith and wife Melody, Lauren Smith, Madison Clayton, Ryan Bopst and great grandchildren Dylan Bopst, Evelynn Wright, Audrey Wright, Benjamin Wright, Isabelle Smith and "one on the way." "Ebby" the cat will miss her person.
