Obituary

Frank Johnson, age 99 and 6 months, passed away on April 3, 2016. He was the beloved husband of the late Lillian (nee Donohue), dear father of Mary Guy, beloved grandfather Marie Moore and Arnold Trombley, and many great and great great grandchildren and loving brother of several siblings. Frank was born in Tarboro, NC in 1916.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII when he landed on Utah Beach on D Day in Normandy during the Battle of St. Lo.  He was Platoon Sergeant of  the 746th Tank Battalion and received the Purple Heart medal after being wounded in action, as well as receiving other commendations and awards.  He was a true patriot.  After serving. he worked at Calvert Distillary until retiring in 1980. Among many of his interests, Frank enjoyed playing Pinochle, Bridge, Solitaire and Poker, as well as crabbing, fishing, family day trips and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.  He also loved growing vegatables and cheering on the Baltimore Orioles.  Frank also was a talented banjo player and had fun bowling duckpins, watching Hee Haw and the Marty Stewart Show. He will surely be missed.... Interment:  Crownsville Veterans Cemetery
