Florian "Pete" Alexander Wagner, age 89, passed away on August 12, 2015. He was the dear son of the late Anna (nee Zamerski) and Joseph Wagner, the beloved husband of 66 years to Peggy (nee Grieves), loving father of Josephine Phillips and her husband, Robert, Donna Zentgraf and her husband, Thomas, Nancy Porter and her husband, Robert, Sharon Zentgraf and her late husband, Albert, the late Joseph Wagner and his wife, Patsy and Elanora Moss and her husband, Stephen. Pete was also the devoted grandfather of Angela Bentzen, Anna Bell, Thomas and Jason Zentgraf, Jennifer Robinson, Joshua Wagner, Stephanie Riggleman, Jessica Gareis, Robert and David Phillips and 16 great grandchildren. He was also the kind brother of Lillian Jackewitz, Marion Wagner, Rita Paytis, the late Marie Slaughter, Helen Neubert, Alvina Jackewitz, Angela Herr, George, Jerome, Johnny and Joseph Wagner and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
Pete married the love of his life, Peggy, in 1949. He proudly served his country in the United States Army - 29th Infantry Division and Military Police Division, Army Reserve and the Maryland National Guard. He was a true patriot. After his military tenure, he had technical training at the New York Technical Institute of Maryland studying Radio/Television Technology and Air Conditioning & Refrigeration focusing mainly on electricity. Pete worked as an electrical technician as his career. He was a member of the Glen Burnie Moose Lodge #1456 and the American Legion Post 137.
Among many of Pete's interests, he enjoyed taking car rides, dancing reading, sudoko, and earlier in his life he liked skating and bowling.
The family received friends on Monday, August 17, 2015 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at Fink Funeral Home, 426 Crain Hwy s. in Glen Burnie. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Transfiguration Catholic Community, (formerly St. Jerome's) in Baltimore.
