Obituary

Sadly, on February 13, 2017, Eleanor C. Ridgell left us to go be with the Lord.  Though her absence with break our hearts, we praise the Lord our God who gave her to the world for 65 years. A resident of the greater Glen Burnie area for most of her life, Eleanor work at several local long term care facilities as a Nurses Assistan and later a receptionist when her health declined.  Even so she managed 20 years of service, bolstered by her love for her patients , especially those who were suffering in Alzheimers' disease. Eleanor was saved in 1962 at the age of 11 years and was a dedicated Christian and a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Lansdowne, of late, where she played the pipe organ.  She had an "ear for music" and could read, write and play music quite naturally.  She loved to cook, crochet, and enjoyed antiquing with Gene, though with a wink of his eye he suggested she enjoyed being with him while he shopped.  Though they were unable to travel far and wide as they had dreamed of in retirement, Ocean City was a favorite destinationthrough the years. She will be sorely missed by Gene her beloved husband and friend of 35 years and though Eleanor and Gene never had children their church family will dearly grieve her loss. Donations in her name may be made to the Scleroderma foundation  at: scleroderma.org
