Obituary

Edward Thomas Galante, age 85, passed away on May 2, 2016.  He was the beloved husband of Marie "Annette" (nee Bates),  devoted father of Tom, Michael and Stephen Galante, Ann-Louise Donnelly, Sheila Galante, Sharon Cooper, and Justine Fields, dear brother of Bob Galante, Louise Dudzik and Agnes Ross, loving grandfather of 12 grand and 14 great grandchildren. Edward was born in Hyde Park, MA.  He relocated to Maryland  in 1961 after proudly serving his country in the US Army as Corporal (T) radio mechanic in the 7772 Signals Service Company.  He participated in the infamous Berlin Airlift.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University and worked for Westinghouse Defense as an Electrical Engineer.  Among his many interests, Ed enjoyed playing Sudoku, doing puzzles, cooking at home and generally "piddling" around, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.  He was a member of VFW Post 160, American Legion Post 276 and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He will truly be missed.... A Committal Service will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 11:30 at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.  The family requests  services are to be private, only including close friends and neighbors.
