Sadly, on October 31, 2025, Arthur Duane Cooper, known to those who love him as "Duane", passed surrounded by all of his family who he loved so deeply.  He was 81.

Born in Corbin Kentucky, the son of Roy O. and Georgia D. (ne'e Lockhart), he would be raised in Baltimore though his heart was "down home."  In his youth he frequented his relatives home in Corbin and was quick to tell everyone he knew in Baltimore where he was from.

He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and served General Motors for 30 years as an Assembly Line Technician.  Following his retirement he spent the summers mowing the lawn and the rest of the year hunting.  Duane was an avid whitetail deer hunter who traveled to Pennsylvania for whitetail, North Carolina for bear and hog, Montana for elk and mule deer and Louisiana for exotics like alligator.  He truly loved the outdoors.  He was a handyman who enjoyed helping family with their projects and was very involved with all of his grandchildren.

Duane is survived by his dear wife of 62 years, Edith "Edie" (ne'e Allum) Cooper as well as his beloved daughter, Michele Marie Cooper, M.D. and her husband Scott K. Sullivan, Jr., M.D. and his dedicated son, Duane M. Cooper and wife Angela (ne'e Sanders). He will be cherished in the memory of his loving grandchildren Alexis and Elle Sullivan, Breana Cooper and Kristen Sanders.  Duane will be missed by his siblings, Margaret Sgroi and husband Joe and Ron Cooper along with his sister-in-law Bonnie Cooper (late Jack). "Choco," his Pomeranian will mourn the loss of her master.  He will forever be remembered by a host of nieces and nephews, friends, co-workers and neighbors alike.
