Sadly, on August 18, 2017 Doris Mildred Cole, nee Williams, "Queenie," passed after a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of northern Anne Arundel County for 80 years she was the daughter of the late Charles Britton and Mary Elizabeth (Webb) Williams. She spent  28 years with her husband William Haines Cole living in Glen Burnie and has been an employee of Anne Arundel County Public Schools for 19 years where she worked in the kitchen and cafeteria at Severna Park Middle. Doris loved to be with the children and was eager for the new school year to begin so she could be with her co -workers, friends and students.  Her students loved her as well and many would return and visit long after completing their education. Queenie enjoyed dancing with her husband  Bill, going to the beach, boating and for a season, attending the Glen Burnie Moose.  One of her favorite past times was watching the series "24" on television and finally on dvds that she accumulated. Doris was a loving  family woman and is survived by her children Sandra Cherly Simmons, Brenda Lee Allison and the late Lou Mitchell, Jr., and Kimberly Dawn Simmons. She is also preceded in death by her brother Clarence Bentz. A devoted grandmother she will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Justin Andrew Simmons and Matthew Tyler Allison and great grandchildren Addison E., Jameson A.,Silas J. and Rowan M. Simmons and Hunter S. Allison.
