Doris Mae Olson, age 92, passed away on May 9, 2013. Before retiring in 1982, Doris worked at the Westinghouse Corporation in Linthicum, MD. When she was a younger woman in 1959-60, she sewed unbrellas for the Umbrella Factory in Baltimore. In her early years while living in West Virginia, Doris was a bookkeeper.  She completed all pertinent paperwork and payroll for a timber contract for United States Steel in Gary, WVA.  During WWII she worked as a civilian at the Naval Shipyard in Norfolk, VA. Baptized into the Morman Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1953, Doris was a home teacher as part of her religious duties for many years. She attended services regularly. Doris loved dancing, sewing, knitting crocheting, cooking and swapping recipes.  She was an excellent cook and she really enjoyed being a homemaker after her retirement.  She enjoyed making suits and dresses as well as many other sewing projects.  She was a member of QVC and liked shopping with them over the years. She was also very independent.  She enjoyed driving her car and taking care of things on her own. Doris had a generous and compassionate heart.  She would help anyone if she could.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a lot of fun to be around.  She was a "spur of the moment" kind a person and had a lot of spunk. The family will have private services at Fink Funeral Home, P.A., 426 Crain Hwy South in Glen Burnie. Interment: Meadowridge Memorial Park
