Clarence "Rod" Gordon Sherrod, Jr., age 80, passed away on June 26, 2013.  He was the beloved husband of Louise Marie (nee Lintz) of 62 years, dear father of Eric Sherrod, Darlene . Myers, Donna L. Cogle, Dorene L. Berry and Laura M. Scmidt, loving brother of Henry "Hank"  and George L. Sherrod and Susan Colston, devoted grandfather of Amy Eveleth, Patrick Myers , Wayne Tyler, Jenni Merrill, Richard Cogle and families, Jamie and Bejamin Schmidt, Samantha, Jason and Adrien Berry and Casey, Brigitte and Crystal Sherrod. Rod lived in Glen Burnie before residing in Pasadena for the last 54 years. He graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1951 then worked as a machinist in the medical field. He had many interests including being a member of the American Legion, Elks Club - Kent Island, Ferndale Social Club, Baltimore Coin Club and Pasadena Sports Fishing Club.  Rod was also a past President of the PTA at Point Pleasant Elementary and George Fox Middle Schools and coached soccer for St. Jane Frances and Mountain Road Soccer. He enjoyed collecting coins, stamps and going fishing and History, and he truly loved to read and spend time with his family. The family will receive friends at Fink Funeral Home, 426 Crain Hwy S. at 5th Ave in Glen Burnie on Sunday, June 30 from 3-5 and 7-8 PM where funeral services will be held immediately after the visitation.  Interment will be at Glen Haven Cemetery at a later date.
