Albert Young Jr. passed away suddenly on October 13, 2024. He was 67. Born to Albert Young, Sr. and Allie V. Lockhard in Gary, Indiana, he was one of nine siblings. After graduating West Side Senior high school, he went to Iowa State University and obtained an engineering degree. He was an electrical engineer for several companies, and retired from Domino Sugar in 2022. After retirement he spent his time with his family. He wasn't a foodie, but he knew what he liked; a chocolate pound cake, pineapple upside-down cake or jambalaya was a good way to make him smile. He loved jazz music, a good mystery, Star Trek, Dr. Who and old school kung fu movies. He is preceded in death by his father, Albert Young Sr.; mother, Allie V. Young; brother, Carr Lee Pearson; sisters, Edna Roberson and Janice Young. He is survived by his wife Thomarikka (Cookye); children Alexandria and Justin; sisters Mary K. Pearson, Alice P. Crumedy, Rose M. Rodriguez, Gloria J. Elliott and Denise Albino. He will be missed.
