Robert "Bob" Carpenter, Sr. Obituary

Sadly, on June 28, 2019, Robert Leo Carpenter, Sr, affectionatley know as "Bob," passed away at his home in Queenstown.  Bob was 81.

Born to Austin Levern and Lela (nee Fredricki) in Waymart, Pa, he would grow and move on to Maryland where her lived in Baltimore and Anne Arundel Counties , finally settling in Queenstown for 36 years.

Bob, a carpenter by trade, belonged to the Carpenters Union, Local 132 with whom he practiced his trade for 30 years and more.  He worked many years as a Giant Food employee restoring and building grocery stores.  When he was not at work Bob enjoyed being involved with various activities particularly those that he could put his hands on.  He didn't like to sit around, and spent his time doing work in his yard and working on cars.  If  you left your car with him for any length of time you might just have received  a bill for mechanical services rendered, it was said with a smile.  But in all, he just liked working outside.

Bob was a member and volunteered his time with the Grasonville Senior Center until very recently.  He and his wife were members for two decades.

Bob leaves his dear wife of 62 years, Shirley Lee (nee Horning) to carry on.  He is survived by two beloved daughters, Sheryl L. and her spouse Walter, Jr. and Kimberly "Kim" Confer and her husband Gary.  He is also survived by his loving son Richard "Rick" L, and his fiance' Melissa Buchal.  Bob is reunited  with his late son  Robert "Bobby” Jr., and is survived by his daughter-in-law Faye Carpenter, Bobbys’ wife.

Robert was one of twelve siblings.  Two loving sisters, Romayne Shea and Rose Packer lament his passing as well as his brotherr Alfred Carpenter.

His memory lives on in  his devoted grandchildren, Walt Ingle, III and his wife Kari, Christopher Ingle and spouse Alyson and Shane and Sydney Carpenter.  Bob is also blessed with four cherished great-grandchildren, Peyton, Aulbrey Tucker and Layla Ingle.

He will be sorely missed.....
