Michael Mitchell, Sr. Obituary

Suddenly, on May 11, 2018 Michael Joseph Mitchell, Sr. passed into eternity.  He was just 55.

Born in Anchorage Alaska, a place he dearly loved, Michael was the son of Michael and step-mother Kathleen and the late Patricia (nee Wiggley.)

A man known for taking pride in his work, he had only recently retired from FedEx where he worked for 30 years as a courier.  Michael loved his family very much and was a dedicated family man who participated in activities with his children such as little league baseball, scouts and even Brownies and more recently as an assistant soccer coach for his son Christian.  He loved working on cars, especially the Pontiac LeMans he would later sell and also enjoyed camping and just being outdoors.  He was an avid fisherman and had belonged to the Bass Masters Club where he drew several awards for great catches.   Michael  had the gift of an ear for music and was a self taught musician playing both the piano and guitar, his guitar being the favorite.  He was an amazing player.   It was said of him, that he was a simple man, yet the fond memories and love, family and friends have for him, would take volumes to describe.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Christine (nee Jankovich) and his devoted children Michael, Jr., Joshua, Jessica and Christian Mitchell.  His legacy will be continued by his wonderful grandchildren Blayk, Cyera, DJ, Sophia and Dylan.   He is also leaving a Brother Kevin and sister Laura Steeg.

Michael will be deeply missed.......
