Austin would ultimately pass in Florida after 40 years of marriage to Mary.  She would return to Maryland in the late 80's where she would spend the balance of her life.  In later years, Mary devoted herself to the writing of poetry.  She believed that God led her in this endeavour, which she poured  heart and soul.  She would publish two books of poetry, "Spiritual Poetry of God's Vision," and "Life's Poems," which received acclaim by both the Baltimore Sunpaper and the Towson Times.
